BREATHABLE HDPE SHADE — NOT WATERPROOF. Air and rainwater pass through the knitted mesh.

  • HEAVY-DUTY HDPE: Made from 180+ GSM UV-treated high-density polyethylene for outdoor shade and long-term use.
  • STRAIGHT-EDGE COVERAGE: Straight sides provide more usable shade area than curved-edge sails and are well suited for patios, pergolas, driveways, and other supported outdoor spaces.
  • GROMMETS & CORNER EYELETS: Metal grommets are positioned around the perimeter, with heavy-duty stainless-steel eyelets at the corners for secure attachment.
  • UP TO 95% UV BLOCKAGE: Helps reduce direct sun and heat while allowing airflow and rainwater to pass through. Actual blockage varies with lighting and installation.

How to Measure

The listed size is the finished sail, not the distance between your posts.

  • Mark your fixing points (posts, walls, eaves) and measure point to point.
  • Leave room for tensioning hardware at every corner: choose a sail 12" to 24" shorter on each side than the distance between your fixing points.
  • Rectangles/squares are listed as Length x Width; triangles list all three sides.

Installation

  1. Use strong fixing points such as set posts or solid structures that can handle wind load.
  2. Attach hardware (pad eyes, turnbuckles, snap hooks) at each corner.
  3. Hang the sail and tension each corner evenly until it is taut with no wrinkles.
  4. Set corners at different heights for a twist that looks better and handles wind more steadily.

Breathable HDPE lets hot air and light rain pass through; it is not waterproof. Re-tension after the first few days. Take the sail down before storms, high winds or snow.

Custom sizes typically ship within 2-4 days on weekdays from our Southern California warehouse, with tracking. For all other locations, please contact us for a shipping quote before ordering. If an order has already been placed, additional shipping charges may apply.

Standard sizes: unused items can be returned within 30 days. Please contact us for approval before shipping a return. Return shipping is paid by the customer, and a restocking fee may apply.

Custom sizes: made to order and can't be returned or exchanged unless damaged or defective.
