BREATHABLE STRAIGHT-EDGE HDPE SHADE SAIL — NOT WATERPROOF. Air and rainwater pass through the knitted mesh. Straight edges perform best with proper support and even tension.

  • 185+ GSM UV-STABILIZED HDPE: Knitted high-density polyethylene provides durable outdoor shade while maintaining airflow.
  • UP TO 90% UV BLOCKAGE: Helps reduce direct sunlight while allowing cooling airflow. Actual shade varies with lighting and installation.
  • STRAIGHT-EDGE DESIGN: Provides broad fabric coverage. Proper perimeter support and tension are important to reduce sagging.
  • REINFORCED CONSTRUCTION: Each sail is finished with double-stitched, reinforced seams, rust-resistant grommets along the edges, and stainless-steel D-rings at the corners.
  • ROPE INCLUDED: One shade sail and heavy-duty nylon rope are included for compatible installations.
  • CUSTOM SIZES AVAILABLE: Confirm finished dimensions and attachment-point spacing before ordering. Color: Sand.

How to Measure

The listed size is the finished sail, not the distance between your posts.

  • Mark your fixing points (posts, walls, eaves) and measure point to point.
  • Leave room for tensioning hardware at every corner: choose a sail 12" to 24" shorter on each side than the distance between your fixing points.
  • Rectangles/squares are listed as Length x Width; triangles list all three sides.

Installation

  1. Use strong fixing points such as set posts or solid structures that can handle wind load.
  2. Attach hardware (pad eyes, turnbuckles, snap hooks) at each corner.
  3. Hang the sail and tension each corner evenly until it is taut with no wrinkles.
  4. Set corners at different heights for a twist that looks better and handles wind more steadily.

Breathable HDPE lets hot air and light rain pass through; it is not waterproof. Re-tension after the first few days. Take the sail down before storms, high winds or snow.

Shipping: free shipping to the lower 48 states. Orders typically ship within 1-2 days on weekdays from our Southern California warehouse, with tracking. Custom sizes typically ship within 2-4 days on weekdays from our Southern California warehouse, with tracking. For all other locations, please contact us for a shipping quote before ordering. If an order has already been placed, additional shipping charges may apply.

Standard sizes: unused items can be returned within 30 days. Please contact us for approval before shipping a return. Return shipping is paid by the customer, and a restocking fee may apply.

Custom sizes: made to order and can't be returned or exchanged unless damaged or defective.
